Chandrashekhar Azad was a fearless revolutionary and a great freedom fighter. He was born on July 23, 1906, in Bhabra village, Madhya Pradesh, India. Chandrasekhar Azad is also known as Azad. Chandrashekhar Azad's real name was Chandrashekhar Tiwari. His father's name was Sitaram Tiwari and his mother's name was Jagrani Devi. He was known as the Guru of Bhagat Singh. He got his early schooling in his Bhabra village. He went to Banaras for higher studies and studied there in a Sanskrit school.  When Chandrashekhar Azad was only 15 years old, he had joined Mahatma Gandhiji's non-cooperation movement. At the age of 15, Chandrashekhar Azad was caught by British police for indulging in revolutionary activities and sentenced to 15 whippings. He was also involved in the 1925 Kakori train robbery.
