We have many Nepali Actors, Musicians, and Artists In Bollywood who have achieved a massive amount of fame because of their incredible work in their own field of excellence. Even now we see many new and talented Nepalese Youngsters, on various platforms such as reality shows and sports leaving their mark and achieving great success. Today we are gonna discuss the top 5 actors in Bollywood who set a benchmark for all the newcomers in Bollywood.


1. Mala Sinha  


Mala Sinha Born on 11 November 1936 is an Indian actress who has delivered her performance in Hindi, Bengali and Nepali films. Mala Sinha"s childhood name was Alda Sinha. She started her career with regional cinema and later shifted to Hindi Cinema in the late 1950"s and 1960"s. She was known as the "daring diva" and "the torchbearer of women's cinema" for essaying strong female-centric and unconventional roles in a range of movies considered ahead of her times. She received multiple awards for her performance.  She has starred in more than 100 films including “Pyaasa“, “Anpadh“, “Maryada“, “Nai Roshani”, “Gumrah” and “Gehra Daag”. She received the Star screen Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.

2. Udit Narayan


Udit Narayan was born on 1 December 1955. He was born to Nepali father Harekrishna Jha, and Bhuvaneshwari Jha. His mother was Indian. Udit Narayan did win the Indian civilian honor “Padma“. His songs have been featured mainly in Bollywood movies. He has also sung in various other languages including Telegu, Kanada, Malayalam, Tamil, Odia, Nepali, Bhojpuri, Bengali. He has won 4 National Film Awards. He got to sing with legends Mohammad Rafi in his Bollywood Playback debut in the movie Unees-Bees in 1980 and also with Kishore Kumar in the 1980s. In Year 1988 in the movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak starring Amir Khan and Juhi Chawla, he finally made his mark "Papa Kehte Hain" was his notable performance which earned him his first Filmfare Award in the 1980s and he established himself in Bollywood Playback Singing. He is the only male singer in the history of the Filmfare Awards to have won in over three decades (the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s).

3. Manisha Koirala


Manisha Koirala, A beautiful and talented actress is the daughter of a well-reputed Nepali Koirala Family. Father, Prakash Koirala being a politician and mother being a homemaker she spent her childhood with a lavish lifestyle. She has spent her childhood in India and lived in Delhi alone which made her strong and independent too. She started taking up modeling projects in the beginning and later decided to try her hand at acting. She Debuted in a Subhash Ghais movie in 1991, Saudhagar. However, her first movie was a Nepali movie that was released in the year 1989, Pheri Bhetaula. After her debut in Bollywood is did many movies from 1992-1993. She has also acted in Tamil Movies. Manisha Koirala who is very successful is planning to join politics in Nepal soon. This actress has made a big career in Bollywood and made our country renowned in the international world.

4. Sunil Thapa



Sunil Thapa is a leading actor in Nepali movie Industry who has appeared in Nepali, Bollywood, and Bhojpuri films. He is a popular figure in the Nepali Movie industry, winning more awards, including the Motion Pictures Award Nepal twice. He is popular for his villainous roles in Nepali Movies. Thapa started his modeling career in 1974 in Bombay, with Binny's and Mafatlal Fabrics.

During his early days, he was also engaged in sports and was a professional football player for ICL Club Bombay and Orkay's Sports club.

Besides acting and sports, he also worked as a photojournalist for JS Magazine (Junior Statesman) and covered the Bhutan Coronation in 1974. In 2014 he was also nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in Film-fare Award for his extraordinary role in Mary Kom


5. Binod Pradhan


Binod Pradhan is an Indian Cinematographer, Actor,  and Director. He has worked in several popular and acclaimed films as a cinematographer. Some of his award-winning films include 1942 Love StoryDevdasRang De BasantiMission Kashmir, and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S Binod grew up in the picturesque hill town of Kalimpong Coming from a humble Gorkha Newar background, Binod got his first Box Camera in the early years from his father, H. K. Pradhan, who ran a photo studio. The love affair with camera started from thereon. Binod and his camera were pretty much inseparable and by the age of 14, he was running things at the studio. He worked with Mani Kaul on the celluloid version of Ghasiram Kotwal and did Jabbar Patel's Jait re Jait. tarted as asst to Prem Sagar at Sagar Arts (Sagar Films) in Mumbai, music videos dir by Girish Mallik, commercials dir by Raima Sen for Coca-Cola.
